The classic ponytail is back for fall and winter with some exciting twists. The timeless pony comes galloping up the runways in renditions from the basic to more sophisticated ones and continues the development of the ponytail which began in the spring. It's a chic and carefree hairstyle generally considered a casual style choice, but it can be transformed into an eye-catching red carpet hairstyle with a little turn of the wrist.

For a daytime look you can go for a casual ponytail ala DKNY with hair gathered at the nape of the neck and draping over the collar. A loose ponytail can add a cool touch by dint of the refreshing effect of simplicity. Soft bangs either to one side or across the brow as a frame can add drama to the look. For a flawless look, camouflage the elastic band with a lock of hair taken from the pony and affixed with a hidden bobby pin that pushes up from underneath the pony and locks the hair.
