Hairbrained, launched in March of 2009, started as a point of connection for a small group of hairstylist friends. Three years old, Hb is the energizer bunny for the hair industry and has become a showcase for growing talent and creativity among hairstylists worldwide.

Last year more than 230,000 beauty professionals from all over the world visited hairbrained to gain inspiration, see emerging talents' work, and to participate in the forums.
This site is amazing. It is an all-over-the-place blog-type site that gets more organized with better content every time we visit. A short list of new editions recently:
- Video by Alan Benfield Bush with some spot-on cutting technique
- Great photos of 1920s hair by Edward Tricomi for Douglas Hannant
- HBtv with hair videos from manufacturers, salons and independent artists
- Groups which include Chicago-area hairdressers
- A photo section now featuring hair by Peter Gray
This site can occupy many an evening and inspire the aspiring stylist, connect industry mavens and be a showcase for the best of the best. It is a site we at Capelli d'Oro spend hours looking through. It never talks down, cloys, or presents over-polished manufacturers' bullet points. For too long, the representation of the hairdresser's art on the Internet has been the exclusive domain of major manufacturers. It is refreshing to see the emergence of sites like Hairbrained, which stand as an enthusiastic voice of the yeoman and artist alike.
The site is evolving into something quite lovely and is driven by the abundant energies of stylists themselves. Great stylists run the action in salons, whereas salon owners, artistic directors, product distributors and manufacturers support art in the salon. Hairbrained recognizes that simple fact and plays upon it to great effect.
We think it worth mentioning the excellent photographic hair styling by Kane Bowen of our home-base, Seattle Washington. This site gives Kane and a thousand other talented stylists around the US and the world a voice and representation.
