Johnny was born to dress hair. Early in life Johnny won a slew of competitions while in high school and took a job for a product company doing platform work at the age of 18. "I was doing shows over the country. I became friends with the make up artist that worked with us. And that's where my interest in make up started."

Over the last few seasons his work has also become a fixture during NY fashion week, doing hair for designers, Kenneth Cole, Ghost, Mille, Cynthia Steffe, and Swarovski.
