Janet gives us a quick insight into what it is like to be associated with the Paul Mitchell Team, and how this relationship influences her career and work. Capelli d'Oro: How many years are you with Paul Mitchell and where do you work when off tour?
Janet Sparveri: I have been with Paul Mitchell ten years now and I am located in Las Vegas at the Robert Cromeans salon.
Capelli d'Oro: Sweet, what a great salon that must be to work in! How is it to work with Robert?
Janet Sparveri: Oh my gosh, he is a trip, let me tell you. He's always got something new for us. In the salon and at the shows, he will ask team members to bring in random things and we will be asked to come up with ways to incorporate the objects into our work.
Capelli d'Oro: Robert asks for found objects and random things? Is this a challenge to incorporate into your hairstyling?
Janet Sparveri: You know it. It is his way to get us to recreate ourselves as artists. It's very motivating and exciting. Robert helps us to identify our professional goals and he helps get us to those goals.
Capelli d'Oro: Robert is certainly one of our hair heroes. He is always exciting to watch.
Janet Sparveri: He has always there to coach and give advice. If you are good he recognizes that and teaches you how to get better.
Capelli d'Oro: Where would you like to go, in your career, with Paul Mitchell?
Janet Sparveri: I am already living my dream. My goals are already being met and I would like to travel more for Paul Mitchell. Make our audiences happy to be hairdressers and spread the word for Paul Mitchell.
Capelli d'Oro: One last item: what do you like to do one stage?
Janet Sparveri: Quick, visual work with strong cutting and bright color, but take the time to clearly walk through the techniques.
