I will admit it, I am addicted to YouTube. Not the YouTube you may think: although videos that feature impossible feats or people behaving like train wrecks are fun, my favorite YouTube activities are to enjoy both the wealth of music videos - current favorites are those by Arcade Fire, Cloud Cult and Animal Collective - and the growing collection of fashion, hair and makeup videos. Here are a few I have watched as of late. If you watch them, too, be sure to browse the recommended selections to the right. The hair is waxed with dry pomade and gathered with fingers to the crown. It is all tailored and all so sophisticated that ….wait a bit: is that Karl off to the side, in the shadows? Karl is still keeping the weight off, I see. Why, why can I not keep my own extra weight off? Karl is sleek, the models are sleek, and the handbags are sleek. What is my basic malfunction that I can eat a cup of gruel-flavored yogurt and gain five pounds! I hate my life….aagghhh! Get a grip, Raul. I must maintain control. Karl has obviously maintained control. He still has the golden touch and no one can come close to him and his amazing team. The Baby Doll is back and it is so sugary, you are tempted to put too much on your cereal and suffer dehydration. Each summer, Malibu is covered with girls that look likes these models and that alone is why beachfront costs so much. It seems, too, that this show is a tribute to Tim Burton's "Alice in Wonderland". If so, this is a very good move. The hair was sliding around the shoulders; the clothes were light and lunch-along-the-boardwalk ready. All in all, the looks were approachable. See more Versace at Versace 2010 . Though the song was "I Eat Donuts", none of the models appeared to have done so! Stella always has approachable models and clothes every woman wants to wear. Unfortunately, the hair and makeup looks as if someone who knew what was going on got caught in traffic and didn't show up. Watch this for the clothes: I did and thoroughly enjoyed it. Though none of these are ideal for the office, they are certain to boil the water cooler dry. This is not John Galliano dreams in flower, but is more of the sensibility that was Dior in the early fifties and, again under Yves Saint Laurent. Soft, sexy, life affirming, life altering beauty and glamour take the stage. It's about as good as it gets. Did they fire the designers and gather things from garage sales? It's like handing out crack on a cracker. I imagine they were trying to make a lasting impression on the assembled, but it seems to be more of a gasping impression. It could be the Kaiser Chief and Killers collaboration. Gothic operatic tone and models pushing ahead to catch the tram and we have our show.
